Peanut Butter, Banana, Avocado and Chocolate Milkshake

If you have a sweet tooth or you crave something sugary after dinner or a workout, why not make this delicious milkshake for you, your partner or your family? Packed with protein, peanut butter and avocado have plenty of delicious and nutritious fats that will keep you feeling satisfied as well as nourishing your skin, hair and nails. If you have just exercised, adding some chocolate protein powder will also give you an extra boost.

It’s no secret that bananas are full of great vitamins too, including potassium, magnesium, vitamin B6, and vitamin C. What’s more, bananas and chocolate will make it sweet. We recommend using cocoa powder, however, if you are feeling indulgent, melted chocolate of any flavour will work too. If you want to make it even sweeter, try adding honey, agave nectar, vanilla extract or finely chopped dates.

Per person, we recommend using one chopped large banana, a tablespoon of peanut butter, 150ml of milk (full fat, semi-skimmed or skimmed will work, as will plant based milks), a tablespoon of chocolate powder and half an avocado. If it is a hot day, a scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream also tastes delicious.

Loaded Macaroni and Cheese

A loaded macaroni and cheese can be filled with whatever you have in your cupboard and fridge – whether that’s vegetables like broccoli, spinach, mushrooms, and tomatoes, or olives, sun dried tomatoes, pesto and sweet potato. What’s more, it can be filled with whatever cheese you take a fancy to, from brie to camembert, saint agur, cheddar, leerdammer, gruyere, feta and parmesan, you can make it as gooey and cheesy as you like.

An easy midweek meal, baked macaroni and cheese is tasty for both kids and adults, and what’s more, by adding plenty of veg, you can make it healthier. A creamy cheese sauce takes minutes to make; simply combine 500ml of milk, 4tbsps of plain flour, 50 grams of butter and 100g of grated cheddar. Make sure you combine these together on a low temperature and whisk thoroughly to thicken up the sauce. Once the sauce has thickened, pour over cooked macaroni, fusilli or conchiglie, add any extra bits and garnish with grated cheese or mozzarella then place in a preheated oven.

If you aren’t in the mood for macaroni and cheese, this cheese sauce can also be used for lasagna, fish, dauphinoise potatoes or cauliflower cheese. Plus, the sauce can be easily frozen and used at a later date.
