The merger of processors Medina and Freshways was complicated by Covid, but the newly formed supplier is now ready to become a major player
We are pleased to announce a very important decision that Freshways have made in our drive towards improved plastic recyclability.
The current recyclability of coloured caps is limited to a single use within the food industry as it cannot be recycled back as ‘food grade’ plastic.
Our decision to remove the colour will enable recycling plants to recycle our caps back into ‘food grade’ plastic and reduce the food industry’s dependence on virgin plastic.
This change will mean that over 300 tonnes of food grade plastic will be available for reuse to the food sector each year.
Please be advised that you will begin to see clear caps on all your Freshways milk and cream produced products with effect from the end of August 2022.
Freshways will continue to explore ways to provide environmentally friendly products to all of our customers and we hope that you will support us with this change and Freshways drive towards carbon neutrality and a greener future for us all.

FRESHWAYS POUCHES RESOLVE STORAGE ISSUES
Using this innovative packaging solution Freshways supply, along with other customers, a major national chain of 1,375 coffee shops.
The pouches reduce the use of plastic and create less material to recycle or end up on landfill. Critically, once the pouch is empty, the storage requirement for empty cartons is reduced to almost nothing as the pouch becomes completely flat.
To find out how your company can benefit from using pouches call 0208 746 2046.
