There are certain ingredients that just scream summer and orange juice and fruity juices are one of these things! Tropicana Juice is the original Tropicana orange juice, with three oranges in every glass. As delicious today as it’s ever been. You might not realise it, but Tropicana orange juice is an incredibly versatile ingredient and can be used in so many different dishes and drinks!
Orange juice is so refreshing, full of nutrients and vitamins but most importantly – absolutely delicious! So with that in mind, we’ve provided here a few of our favourite recipes that include orange juice. These dishes are suited to relaxing and informal dining establishments but certainly wouldn’t be out of place on a quality bistro menu either.
Summer fruit salad
This is a firm favourite with lots of people but especially during summer. It makes a fantastic light pudding served as an accompaniment to a light dessert such as meringue or panna cotta. Fruit salad is perfect for any occasion. This recipe is sure to be a crowd-pleaser as the sauce really makes it. This salad is yummier the longer you can let it soak in its juices. The optimum time to leave it is 3 to 4 hours in the refrigerator beforehand. So, here’s how you do it!
Bring orange juice, lemon juice, brown sugar, orange and lemon zest to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat. Lower the heat to medium-low, and simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat, and add in vanilla extract. Now set aside to cool.
Now all you need to do is layer the fruit in a large glass bowl. You can use anything you like but as this is a summer fruit salad, we recommend using fruit that is in seasons such as strawberries and peaches! So add your fruit in, for this recipe we recommend pineapple, strawberries, kiwi fruit, peaches, oranges, grapes, and blueberries. Pour the cooled sauce over the fruit. Cover and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours before serving. And there you have it, a tasty and refreshing fruit salad!
Zesty, boozy and a classic pudding – Crêpes Suzette has been described as the most famous of all haute cuisine pancake creations and is undoubtedly the king of retro desserts. But how do you make the perfect zesty Suzette? Here is our take on it:
Whip up a classic pancake batter with eggs, milk and flour. Put the flour, sugar and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Make a well in the centre, add the eggs, oil and 2 tbsp of the milk, and beat together with a wooden spoon until smooth. Slowly start to pour in a little milk, mixing as you pour, to keep the batter smooth. Pour in the rest of the milk, a bit more quickly now, until it looks like single cream. Ladle your pancakes into a greased pan and cook until solid and golden brown.
Put the caster sugar into a non-stick frying pan and put the pan over low-medium heat. Allow the sugar to melt slowly without stirring and continue to cook until it becomes a caramel colour. Take the pan off the heat and add the orange juice straight into the pan. Ensure you keep a safe distance when doing so as the sticky, hot caramel-like substance can be really painful if it touches the skin.
Then add the orange zest, lemon juice and return the pan to low heat to re-melt the caramel into the liquid.
This fresh and flavoursome slaw is refreshingly bright and crunchy and a great accompaniment to lots of dishes or even just on its own. What you’re going to need for this dish is red cabbage, carrots, red onion, a clove of garlic, two limes, orange juice, sea salt, black pepper and fresh parsley. This recipe is also vegan!
This is a very easy recipe and won’t take you very long to prep – but the flavours are certainly going to pack a punch! Finely slice your red cabbage, grate your carrot and onion, mince your garlic and finely slice your parsley. Then, combine in a large bowl with salt and pepper.
Pour a small cup of orange juice into the bowl and mix well. You can also add the zest of orange if you have one. This gives the slaw a nice, tangy flavour! Pop it in the fridge for a minimum of an hour and if you can, overnight to let the flavours fully cogitate. And there you have it, this really is that simple!

Summer fruits smoothie
Smoothies tend to be much sweeter than milkshakes and are a bit healthier too. If you have a sweet tooth but want a healthy and refreshing drink option, that is filled with fruit – this is a great option! Here is an easy and healthy recipe for our take on a summer fruit smoothie!
Add to a blender a handful of fresh blueberries, a handful of fresh raspberries, a handful of fresh blackberries, one ripe banana and 150ml of Tropicana Orange Juice. Blend until smooth. If you don’t have a blender you can use a hand-held one too!
Pour into a tall glass and enjoy! Top with ice cubes if you want a nice chilled smoothie! This is the perfect summer drink!
Orange passionfruit and mango cooler
This one could not be any simpler and it’s incredibly refreshing and delicious! This is the perfect way to cool down in the heat and is full of fruity goodness!
In a blender put 100ml of orange juice and 100ml of passion fruit and mango juice with lots of ice. Add the juice of one lime for extra tanginess! Top it with ice to about halfway up the blender. This creates a slushy-like effect.
Pour into a tall, cooled glass and enjoy!
